Beauty Portraits

Makeup and fashion can be used as a means of communication and expression of our personality. I have collaborated with makeup artists to create fashion portraits with creative makeup. When choosing the models we have created makeup looks that conveyed their personality to me, However this is only what I perceive about them and we didn’t tell the models what their makeup look would be. When the models were ready and started posing, I let them start posing however they wanted and after a while I explained that the project is about their identities and I told them to make poses that they thought represented them.

This project is an exploration of how someone's identity is transmitted, of someone's perception of their own identity and how it is captured through a “layer” of makeup.
